By the way, did anyone else misread his name as "Nobuyuki Hiyama" and almost have a heart attack?

Very painful death.
May Mr. Furuta-san rest in peace. He may not have been involved in the anime scene much, but his contribution to Yū Yū Hakusho was nonetheless massive.
