I'd love to see this be printed in paperback, that way I can put it on my shelf. But I know J-Novel Club mostly makes everything digital, so I have a feeling that won't happen.

Some of their stuff gets licensed by Seven Seas for print, so never say never.

Really? I had no idea. Cool! But I highly doubt there's much of an audience for autobiographies about anime screenwriters/directors unless it's Miyazaki. Of course, I'd definitely buy this.

Tbf, i think Mari Okada's one of the few non-Miyazaki that would see at least SOME success sales wise.

I was less than happy about the jab at isekai that was made on Twitter but an autobiography about the scriptwriter for Anohana does sound interesting.

I'd think the main market in the west would be universities. Anyone in Media Studies who focuses on anime will want to read this, and it'd fit into Women's Studies and Japanese Studies as well. If anyone picks up the print rights, I'd bet it's an academic press.

Women's studies, maaaybe, but it's written like a series of scenes, and feels like it could be a work of fiction if it weren't all true stories for the most part.

There is definitely lots of interesting information about her work process, but it's an engaging book to read too.

doooope! I never expected this to be licensed, but I'm very glad it did. I've been wanting to read it since Frog did the initial article about its release for ANN.
