Don't fix what isn't broken! Glad they got all the main cast back! The dub wouldn't be the same otherwise!

Not even a little? I mean, of course Chris Patton, Luci Christian, and Vic Mignogna were gonna return, but Hilary Haag and Alison Keith returning were two big question marks. However, those two returning becomes less surprising when you factor in this season's voice director; Mike McFarland. To my knowledge, he's the only FUNimation voice director those two have worked under, so him directing this made their reprisals more of a probability. Still though, this is a Simuldub, so I'm very curious to know how they're accomplishing this. Smile

Awesome, I really can't wait. Now I need to re-watch TSR before this airs.

I'm so glad that Hilary Haag and Alison Keith are returning, especially the former, she has a very unique voice that would be hard to copy. Someone said Hilary would be ahrd to get, so i wonder if she is going to do recordings for a few weeks of dialogue.

reprising their roles from Funimation's dub for the older Full Metal Panic! series
You mean ADV right?

edit; It is a shame that Chris Ayres won't(I think) be able to reprise his role

Funi deserve a pat on the back for this one, honestly I had my doubts they were gonna (be able to) make it happen. Now sub and dub fans can be equally delighted at the return of this great show.

The real question is, if Kalinin is a part of this series who will be the voice, since the passing of Mike Kleinhenz. He had a voice that was, shall we say, unique.

Edit: I see they've already cast Kent Williams but declined to mention that in the article. Also Mardukas is now voiced by Mark Stoddard instead of Andy McAvin. So there will be differences which were to be expected, I suppose.

ADV did the first series and fumoffu, funimation had the rights to TSR.

I'm more surprised by Allison than Hillary since Hillary still shows up from time to time in a dub. But I'm happy regardless.

Kadokawa Pictures USA produced the dub at ADV, this is the first FMP dub by Funi, it's not important, but I still think it should be corrected.

This the best news for FMP. So excited to hear Luci and Chris reprise their roles and that most of the crew is back. Brings tears to my inner 16 year old.

Agreed. It seems like lately they've been really trying to keep casts consistent now that they are able to remote record for certain shows, but it was hard to tell if that would work here since it is a cast that almost certainly has to travel each week to make it happen.

To clarify, TSR was recorded at ADV but released by Funi. Correct me if I am wrong, but I suspect they will be using SourceConnect quite a bit for this dub.

This is one of the rare ADV dub casts that were not total garbage. I will make an exception and watch this dubbed at some point as I enjoyed this cast previously.
