I'm not surprised, the series seemed to be winding down for awhile now. Honestly I wasn't a big fan of it, lots of drama and how the relationship starts isn't cool. Having someone pin you down and forcibly kiss you in order to try proving a point, shouldn't make you want to date them. That's just uncomfortable. Hopefully if the author makes another series she'll learn from this one and make some big improvements. Although the dramatic angsty nature of this series was pretty polarizing and it pulled in a good amount of views, so maybe the author thinks everything is working as intended.

Awww, the series is almost over. Can it wrap up everything with one more chapter? In any case, the only "big" Yuri Hime title left I can think of is Yuru Yuri. What could be next title that could grab a similar sensation as Citrus. And also what will Saburouta work on next?

This might significantly impact the chance of a season 2, huh? Guess the only way I'll know the rest of the story is by reading it...

Remember that Cruchyroll co-produced season one; they could help finance a second season.

Do we know why it's ending? I thought it was fairly popular

depends if Kodansha will allow it, or if they want to prioritize sales of the manga, at least for the time being.

Maybe it’s not doing so well in Japan right now. The only other explanation I can think of is that Saburouta probably thought it was time to end it.

That's the point. The Anime is one big ad campaign for the Manga. They want you to go buy manga.

Source for this? I didn't know Crunchy co-produced Citrus.

I do hope that is the case. While it's sad it's ending if it was the author's choice at least we know we got the complete story.

I have not read a chapter since 22 in 18 months but I watched the anime and I love the faithful art and adaptation. Season 2 seems to be unlikely but I hope it will finish strong and have a happy ending for Yuzu and Mei. Guess I should get back at reading the manga.

I love Citrus, but I must admit my reaction to this news was "Good." It occasionally spends too much time on meaningless junk and has needed to wrap itself up.

Agreed. It has became an exercise in frustration lately. Either advance the story or kill it.
