Finally, 'Barefoot Gen' on DVD. Now we can finally order a copy for the libary here since we only have the VHS version.

Barefoot Gen had been on DVD since at least 1999 when streamline pictures released it. It's nice to see an anime giant pick it up and (hopefully) give it the respect it deserves.

I had a feeling it had. But I was wondering if it had ever been. Most of the time the DVDs that were being sold at the time were illegal copies.

Yeah, the Barefoot Gen DVD and original release of Lupin III: The Mystery of Mamo (Geneon put it out as The Secret of Mamo) both came out from Streamline around the same time. It's been a while since I played them, but I believe they were both dub only and had no extras. Still, they're pretty rare to find on eBay and can fetch some nice prices.

This is great news for me. I've been wanting to see Barefoot Gen. The old DVD version of it was at prices too phenomenal. Heh...
|
