It's awesome that they get all the old cast back.
Other anime that I won't mention would be wise to follow this example.

So is it set in the 80s or present day?

I can't wait for this, for Ryo's appearance in Jump Force or the upcoming live-action Nicky Larson movie. If you don't know, Nicky Larson is the French name for Ryo Saeba. 2019 will be a good year for City Hunter.

I've never seen this series but heard good things about it. I got to say I can tell by this trailer it's right up my alley. An adult cast drawn in a colorful but not hyper-kawaii artstyle with some nice kung fu and gun fights. I'm sure theree alot more to this series of course but this trailers got me interested. Ryo seems pretty cool in that jump force trailer. Who else would be cool enough to shoot goku with a gun and actually hurt him lol.

If ever someone would remake a series from the cell shade era, they better hire sunrise studios for animation production. The animation here was pretty smooth really reminds you of the old classic era visuals.

I'm torn between ridiculously excited and hyper nervous.
I'm gonna watch it, but will I like it???
Will Kaori still have her character development from the final 2 seasons or will she just HAMMER!SMASH Ryo and have minimal screen time or be helpless...?
(I hate that I'm thinking that that is a possibility but I have this odd nagging feeling...)
The final two city hunter movies weren't very kind to her...

If it is set in the modern era, I've got to ask who in gods name still has a cassette player.

As long as the original cast (especially Kamiya) are back then i am always in for a new City Hunter
My hope that whoever ends up licensing the movie down the line will have very good sales figure to convince them to re-license the TV series and specials.

It'll probably be Aniplex of America handling the movie so be careful what you wish for.
