All I can pray for is for a elite trainer series and not this brain dead Ash thing they have been using like a dead horse for so long now.

I really hope this new anime is based on the Pokemon Adventures manga. The manga is great.

So is this going to be a spin off that airs alongside the main anime like Pokemon Generations or is this going to be the series that replaces the Sun and Moon anime entirely? If it's the new mainline anime, I'd honestly be a little disappointed it's not a more traditional adaptation of the Sword and Shield games, given the anime was one of the reasons given for why they couldn't possibly delay the new games to fix the National Dex issue and was something I was sympathetic towards. Doing a weird rehash of the previous regions also seems redundant to me while they're also doing the movies as their own alternate universe reboot retelling. We don't really need more nostalgia milking for the franchise.

Is this new series also going to still have Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket? As much as people complain about them, they've been mainstay essentials of the franchise from the beginning and Jessie and James were especially an important part of Takeshi Shudo's vision for the Pokemon anime and have charmed generations of kids over the years. If Ash and Team Rocket are still part of the show but they're just going to be going back and revisiting old regions, I think this could still have potential although I would still rather they focus more on the new Galar region than a lot of nostalgia baiting.

@Cardcaptor Takato

I hope it won't be a Pokemon Masters, that's what concerns me.

I feel like this is potentially a more game-based adaptation. I'm really hoping for a Pokemon Special/Adventures type thing, rather than another rehash of stuff we've already been over. I feel like the main series isn't going to end any time soon (if ever), and they'd have to make something pretty different to have them run side by side.

I’m curious if they will be giving the current anime a proper finale and how they’ll go about it! September 29 we need you!

I only wish we had a game big enough to feature all the regions. I remember when Gold & Silver first came out, and going back to Kanto and revisiting parts of the previous game was a big deal for me.

Can't wait to see more! Also, just for shits and giggles, I'd like to see Mario make a guest appearance in this show. It would be kinda funny seeing him in a plot line in the Pokémon anime similar to like how Crash Bandicoot guest starred in that Skylanders cartoon on Netflix some years ago.

Very interesting as to how they're going to cover all the regions and, holy crap, I'm going to be 24 when it premiers!

How are they going to do an anime that has all the regions in it? That doesn’t make any sense.

The usual Pokemon anime logo in Japanese has always been green. The "AU Satoshi" movies (20-21) have been blue. This anime logo is also blue and in the same original font that the original series and the "AU Satoshi" movies used.

This is ONLY speculation, and one point of speculation doesn't mean much, but it'd probably be good to keep in mind.

Every time they announce a new series (like generations and origins) I hope for a more serious remake based on the games or the adventures manga.

But I have to admit a short series to promote pokemon masters is way more likely.
I could even see them rather making a pokemon go anime, based on its popularity.

This sounds awesome, but is this a spinoff or Sun and Moon's replacement? If it's the latter, there's not much excuse not to delay Sword and Shield, IMO.

I wish we knew more. It's hard to be excited when I'm not sure what to expect. But the logo/font is making me lean towards this being the Satoshi-starring replacement for Sun and Moon. Or at most, a Pokemon Masters anime.

My dream for the franchise is still a Pokemon Adventures adaptation, but the lack of Special in the title all but confirms that this isn't what we're getting.
