Oh boy, am I looking forward to this. I remember seeing the trailers for this back at Anime Expo '04.

I just hope Super Techno Arts doesn't take an additional five years to actually release it over here. :s

I'll get the game when it comes out. But yeah, I remember when Jojo (the anime oav) was first licenced back in like....1998 or 1999 by CAPCOM and they dropped it. And then whoever got it was sooooooo frickin' slow with the DVD releases. I also didn't agree with VIZ's releasing of the manga. Too bad I'm coming back home from Japan in December =(. I hope they got Dio's original seiyuu to play him again. He was perfect and bad ass as Dio.

I think it would be cool if they did an oav series of Battle Tendencies, the Joseph Joestar storyline. That's probably my favorite story with Stardust Crusaders being my 2nd favorite.

Nice. Hey, I'm just hoping a good company gets the liscence. Super Techno Arts just got the rights to the old OAV series, right?

Maybe they're treating JoJo like a fine wine.. and taking forever to get something out. Sort of like the game company that takes 10 years to do a release.

He won't be returning. Midorikawa Hikaru will be playing Dio. Check out the second pic on the Gpara site.

AFAIK, yeah, all they have is the old OVA.

Also, I'm sort of on the fence with Viz's treatment of hte manga. On one hand, we don't get the first two arcs. On the other hand, Viz makes no attempt to hide this, got Hirohiko Araki to make a little prolgoue, and yeah, far and above, the third arc is the most popular.

Crotchspike: STA didn't announce a Jojo prequel until last year...

Parapara: Capcom only had the rights to the videogames; and they dropped the U.S. release of the PS2 game.

Lyrai: They're also producing the new OVA. The only thing I'm pissed at Viz is that the gap between vol. 6 and 7 appears to be 4 months apart. I hope it's not gonna be reduced to 2 volumes a year like Shin Lupin...

AGREED! I am so anxious to see what happens, and I'm tring to be good and stay away from scanlations.

Possibly stupid questoin, but can anyone say what part of hte story this new movie will cover? Redo of part 3?

MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA!!

How can it be "dead" when the manga is still getting published regularly? The measure of aliveness isn't in whether a series is animated. *sulk* (Although "animated" does have some literal meaning of being brought to life or moving. >_>)

AH yes Finally! I actually emailed Super Techno Arts about this a few months ago and they are waiting for it to be finished in Japan so they can start the translating process. They are owned by the studio that makes the JoJo Anime.

This site has the cast for the video game listed:
http://atmarkjojo.org/archives/2006/2006-05-30-001178.html

The previous JoJo games don't share the same actors as the anime, so one shouldn't necessarily assume this will be the case here either.
