I understand the need to start early because of the lead time required to make an anime these days, but I'm a little ticked that they're doing this before production has even begun on Kud Wafter. I threw... (let me check... Holy Shocked) at that project, and I don't think I feel comfortable giving Key that much money again until I see results.

Isn't Kud Wafter got the delay because J.C.Staff, who supposed to produce the anime, got booked beyond the measure (with two whole TV series per season straight from summer at least) and staff change, and Key has no really deal with it?

Yes, and that's why I said I understand the delays, because that's just the reality of making an anime these days. But the tiers just to get an ordinary copy of the blu-ray for Kud Wafter started at $100+, triple that if you want a pretty box to put it in. Presumably this will be priced similarly. I have no reason to expect the Kud Wafter project to fall through completely, but... that's a lot of money in limbo, and Key's track record on anime quality isn't real great right now. Granted the Planetarian anime was quite good, but I'd be more comfortable pledging for this if I knew what to expect from Kud Wafter.

It's 6600 yen for a BluRay of the OVA. The campfire crowdfunding page is now viewable, will launch in a little under a week.

Oof.

Likely means they'll only ship to a Japanese residence. Shouldn't be too hard to use a proxy service. I've done it before with other campfire campaigns at least.

Interesting.. To say the least there are still I think 3 short stories that can be told.
Snow globe, Jerusalem, and Tircis and Aminte.

The movie covered the 4th short story "Hoshi no Hito" at the end.

Snow Globe if I remember correctly takes place before the war.
Jerusalem takes place during the war..
and Ticris and Aminte is the only one I know next to nothing about.

I'd be down if opened to international backers.. Planetarian is quite possibly my favorite Key title.

spoiler[ Also quick note, I would have to go back and do some reading but the name of the Junker is never revealed.. It might have been revealed in Hoshi no Hito, but to see his name listed as "Kuzuya" I must have missed that.]

Garbage/Junk is Kuzu, so I imagine Kuzuya is just Junker in Japanese.

If I remember right, Snow Globe is the audio drama regarding spoiler[the two kids that Yumemi allowed through without tickets] that she references in the main game.

@Megiddo you are correct. It's been some time since I've read it.

That is correct. Adding -ya to the end of a noun refers to a person whose profession is to sell that noun. One might translate it as "dealer" or "seller". Kuzu-ya is literally "junk dealer".

I would prefer an anime about Summer Pockets, i didn't like Planetarian as much as other Key stories, just a little bit more than Air.

Could you recommend one? I have a Campfire account and was looking forward to contributing. Thanks very much to you for mentioning it was Japan-only as I didn't read to the end of the page...

I'm partial to White Rabbit Express personally as I've used them a good number of times, but there are dozens of similar proxies that would be able to assist with the transaction in Campfire.

I'd love to see these! Yumemi has to be one of my all-time-favorite robot/android girls in anime.
