Weird timing and decision, unless they slow the pacing down, I cant see how they can cover much of any satisfying ground in the series which is still, sourcewise, not that much far from where the anime even ended before hand...just weird decision.

I remember being interested in World Trigger but being disappointed in the anime though I always heard the manga was better. It feels random to bring this show back now after this long.

Can't wait for the dub to air on an obscure cable channel and never come to home video!

Wish Toei would release the first season dub, either on streaming or bluray. Apparently it aired once on some US cable channel no one had, and never saw the light of day since. Basically what happened with Captain Tsubasa 2018 from Viz (which doesn't even have a legal sub, for some reason). Just don't see the point of spending so much money in dubbing such a lengthy series, and then not even making it accessible for anyone.

man so stoked for this series to comeback but, im pretty sure the manga has had alot of haitus' and not a lot of new material has been covered. Kind of worrysome hopefully its not original content! maybe its just the announcement of a new anime but its still some time off like a year or so cus i think there is only about 60 or so chapters of uncovered material so far
maybe just a 12 episode season?

I'm glad they are doing a sequel but yeah that's a weird decision, the manga was on hiatus for a long time and while it's back its current pace is really slow. Anyway, there is still enought material for multiple cour.

I really can't believe it, no one seemed to have faith it would get another season, citing poor sales. I had given up hope too, so I am so incredible happy about this announcement! Even if it turns out to be just one cour.

O.K., unless Viz was trying to put it on some obscure cable channel to try to develop a more solid fan base with the series, why might a licensing agreement use said channel?

But, we don't have many chapters out after the first Season and now the manga is monthly, i guess its 2 chapters per month, right?, so..... I guess we won't get a World Trigger Season, but a 'full filler' World Trigger Season, hum... ;/ F...

This is not the news I expected to hear, but as a crazy person who spent a ridiculous amount of money on the Japanese Blu-rays, this is why I did it, even if it took five years. The anime really wasn't a high quality adaptation, especially visually, but I still had a ton of fun watching it.

Considering how poorly the first season was received I and how is it's been five years since it premiered I figured a second season was a pipe dream. While it's cool a second season is happening the fact that it's Toei whose making it who is the very same studio who effed up the original anime makes me nervous.

I wonder where TV Asahi will air it because they dropped the daytime anime slot it aired before replacing it with a live-action sports show and AFAIK it never changed.

Maybe on a temporary late night slot like Tiger Mask W did?
