Thank God we finally got some information about the restart. I'm disappointed it's not restarting sooner, like other delayed shows I was watching, but at least I've got confirmation that it is coming back. Can't wait!

Yeah, I guess the live action portion might have made it take longer to get restarted than its fully animated peers. It’s good to have it back on the calendar at least.

I'm surprised, I thought the live action segments were filmed well in advance. You can see snow on the ground when Dino goes camping, it looks like the segments were done in the winter time, around Januaryish I'd estimate. Still, I'm sure the whole thing is logistically difficult managing the two strands.

I did like the live action bits at first, with the salaryman instead of the gal. But they really dropped in quality as they went along, the worst bits being sub-variety show fare.

I hope they can provide a safe environment for Nana Yashiro and co. to shoot those live-action segments with no danger of contamination.

I would not say that. The exposure risk is still very real. I would not be surprised with daily rates climbing that will be worse than sporing lock down in Tokyo.

Surprised production not earlier. New episodes will be starting with #9, so likely no new episodes until late November, early December, barring new complications.

Also, ANN, stop calling this new corona virus, at this point, there is nothing new or comparative against old er or other corona viruses.

I was a little worried this show would end up canceled with no news on it returning after so long. I might be in the minority here but I personally have been enjoying this more than Pop Team Epic.

I wonder if they planned to move on to the spring in the anime segments, which would have necessitated shooting live action segments in the spring (since so far the live action seems to at least have a time period correlation with the anime portions). Which wouldn't have been possible, assuming the filming started in December 2019 or so.

That is a proper way to refer to covid-19. It is "new" because it is the latest corona virus identified, not that it is new in how it compares to other older corona viruses

COVID-19 is a new disease, caused by a novel (or new) coronavirus that has not previously been seen in humans.
