Omg, I so love this manga. I have both Volumes of the Novel and now the manga is coming out is some awesome news. I am so looking forward to this. This my favorite novel and manga ever

I never got why read the manga if the LN is available (are people that lazy to read instead of watching pictures?), but good for the people who do.
As for me, I am waiting for English release of LN vol. 2 (it was planned to come out this month unless delayed). Really eager to see how the first arc ends. |

Putting aside the condescending wording, there are many reasons why someone would prefer the manga adaptation over the source material, in this case, the light novels. There are visual-first readers as well as those who are drawn more to the manga art style and can use it to best visualize the world and thus connect to its themes and characters. The argument that those who forgo the LNs in favor of the manga iteration as being "lazy" just smacks of ignorance and the kind of holier-than-thou gatekeeping that plagues the anime community. The same "argument" can and has been made against fans of light novels, by those who prefer high fantasy or other door-stopper books, decrying light novels as "easy," or not "real" literature. Same nonsense. 
On the topic of the actual work here, it sounds interesting and fun so I'll be keeping my eye out. |

For me, I generally prefer manga adaptations of light novels because I find most LNs terribly written. I've loved to read for my entire life, and I find the usual style in LNs to be flat and dull, heavy on telling instead of showing. There have been a few times where I read the manga version first, then read a sample of the original LN and found it to be highly unengaging by comparison. |

If I'm going to read LN or manga, I do tend to prefer to read whichever is the original source (which is usually LN), but some stories are just plain better in visual form (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear was a big one here for me), and some LNs are overloaded with exposition that can be cut down in manga form. There have been times where I'm reading a LN and I've wished there were more illustrations because I have difficulty visualizing what's going on and it makes me think, hm, why didn't I just go with the manga? |

Reading a novel feels more fulfilling but it requires me to reserve uninterrupted time to get into it. I tend to prefer manga because it saves time. A picture is worth a thousand words and all that. |

I'm going to have to disagree with you. I find it to vary tremendously based on the author (and I suspect translator). Some are just as bad as you say but the majority are no worse than any genre novels originally written in English. I will say that when the novel version is not the source material that they are almost uniformly bad, but I've notice the same result in English as well. I generally buy both if they come out at about the same time. If I like the series I will follow not only the novel version but the manga and anime versions as well. I find that usually the novel version provides more detail and often has scenes omitted from the manga or anime versions. The manga version provides illustrations, frequently superior to those in the novel and the anime adds sound and color. Which is preferable depends partly on the specific series and the skills of those adapting the source material. However the biggest variable is your own personal preference. Concerning I'm in Love with the Villainess, I read about half of the novel and found the personality of the main character to be intolerable. The chirpy masochism was more than I could handle. I will not be following any version of this series. Your mileage may vary. |
