Higehiro! I'm very excited to be getting physical editions of the book in English. I've been told the latter half of the anime adaption skipped or really condensed whole subplots so I'm eager to read the complete version of the story.

For anyone wondering, Yen Press has mentioned that they intend on giving Higehiro a new, more refined translation that's better than the crappy one Kadokawa put out recently, so look forward to that. Someone asked them about it on Twitter and Yen replied to them saying so.

Some interesting romance manga and Higehiro! Nice!

I'm curious who they get to narrate the 86 audiobook. Suzie Yeung or Billy Kametz? I know the SAO audiobook shifts between Bryce and Cherami for certain chapters so I wonder if they change it depending on who the POV narrator of the chapter is since it shifts.

Excited to get the Higehiro novels in a translation that's actually worth the money.

Good. What I heard of the translation of the Kadokawa version, made me give a pass on it. If Yen ensures their usual quality, this is a sure get.

Though I do wonder which would be easier, giving the Kadokawa translation a do-over, or writing a new translation from scratch? Any takes on this?

Kowloon Generic Romance, Silent Witch, and Tower of the Sun look interesting. Might pick those up.

More novels from Tomihiko Morimi (probably best known for Eccentric Family, Tatami Galaxy, Penguin Highway, and The night is short, walk on girl)! Yay!

Wish someone would bring over Eccentric Family and Tatami Galaxy, now.

So glad Silent Witch is finally licensed. Despite seeming like a tropey otome story at first glance, it's more of a character study than a romance. Monica herself can be enough of a pushover to be polarizing, but she grows amazingly throughout the series in a gradual, organic way.

I would imagine starting from scratch would be easier, especially since only 1 chapter is out so far. I wonder if this is a silent admission that their previous efforts sucked, and that they should leave the translations to an established English translation company

Glad to see more of Tomihiko Morimi's work getting translated. Definitely going to get a copy of both.

I would like to read the original press release to see the exact wording regarding Higehiro's translation, but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have the link? (Would be nice if ANN would link the PRs in these articles at the bottom). It's not even listed in the recents list animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/recent

I don't think the translation was mentioned in the press release, but clarified (somewhat) in a tweet reply here: https://twitter.com/yenpress/status/1487121356051423233
My understanding from that is the existing translation will be gone over by their own editorial team before going to print.

Still waiting on a dub for Higehiro. Any idea if we'll get one or not?
