Feels like it was only a matter of time, I don't read it but I've only heard great things

Definitely expecting this and definitely excited. Not sure how much material they will cover though, probably enough for just one cour at this point?

I hope for 24-26 episodes! Great news! It was inevitable! Manga is very popular in Japan!

I've been reading the manga and it's great. Not at all surprised it's getting an anime and I'm looking forward to it. Hope it gets one of the top studios to adapt it; it deserves the best.

Go ahead and read the manga, at least the first four or five volumes. After that, you get character bloat with dozens of new characters and endless multiple chapter long flashbacks and back stories that totally take away from the main storyline. Hopefully they tighten this up in the anime.

Assuming it will get one cour (2 cour might be a stretch consider the amount of materials), what would be a good stopping point for the anime? So far I could not find a satisfactory one

That's a really intriguing synopsis. Might need to keep an eye on this.

Her name is just so unfortunate - why would you choose a German VERB for a name? It's like naming them "To Freeze". I know this is a great series, but every time I see that name...

Well, if it's gonna be one-cour, the best stop point probably will be spoiler[right before Forest exam, when Sein leave the party (chapter 35)] - even if it's gonna be open-ended.

Well, considering it also means "be cold" and Frieren personality, the name absolutely fits her.

The manga is full of characters with German words for names, always fitting for their powers or their character. It's author's whole shtick.

Japanese authors like to make names with puns or not-so-hidden meanings, like with Komi-san's character names. Tadano Hitohito: “just a/some guy”.
Komi Shouko: Komi-san can’t communicate.
Komi -> Komyu; short for communication
Komyushou = communication disorder

Could you please add the anime to the encyclopedia? I would like to add it to my "to see" list. ^^
