Tokyo Marble Chocolate is a really weird choice. I mean it was fun to watch but not something extremely special that I'd want to own on Blu ray especially since it's only an hour long

It is good that A Place Further Than the Universe is getting a N.A. disc release. Crunchyroll co-produced this show, but they never cared about it. Even though many fans clamored for a dub and physical release. Thank you Anime Limited and f.uck you Crunchyroll.

Pretty sure this would have never been possible if Anime Limited didn't get permission or had some kind of agreement with CR to dub and release it for home video for them since CR is the license holder... so you do have CR to thank for deciding not to sit on this license anymore.

And seeing that they're also additionally distributing to two other CR licenses, this agreement must've happened before the merger.

Will Crunchyroll at least be able to stream the Universe dub? AL to my knowledge does not have any streaming presence in NA.

Pretty positive CR will stream the dub at some point since they are the license holder. They do have their industry panel tomorrow so maybe they’ll announce it there?

Crunchyroll also never streamed Discotek's Kemono Friends dub all these years later.

Nice to see Tonikawa finally getting a release. Not sure I'd get a CE for it, but nice to see movement on that front regardless.

I found Macross Plus OSTs on CD by physically searching secondhand stores in Japan in late 2019, proxy services that can do searches e.g. fromjapan.co.jp can also locate a good percentage of anime soundtracks on CD.

PS, would this news mean that I would have to order A Place Further than the Universe blu-rays from the USA to get an English dub?

It's great that Tokyo Marble Chocolate is getting a NA release, it's a hidden gem. It's weird that they are the ones dubbing and releasing A Place Further Than the Universe giving that CR co-produced it.

I have tried without any luck to get them myself. It would help if they did a release outside of Japan that isn't vinyl. Don't get me wrong vinyl is good but I prefer digital.

I'm pretty sure the first OST of Macross Plus got a western CD release in the mid-nineties. I have it in my collection: https://vgmdb.net/album/31777
I found the second one a bit later, but I can't remember if I got it new or secondhand in Japan.

Good to hear that A place further than the universe is finally getting an English BluRay release. I have the German BluRay release. I usually don't buy German anime releases since they're rather expensive and only include 3~4 episodes a disc instead of being complete collections, but with YoriMoi I just needed to have it. The German dub is also quite good.
