Great news! This show is so good. The recent movie just had a jp bluray release, i'm excited for that as well.

I opened Twitter at like 5 am and this was what I saw lol. Best news in years. Anime of the year 2024, easily. Crazy to know this anime was announced way back in June 2019. Understandable why it took this long, but I'm so glad they didn't give up.

It kinda released. It's only the "Theatrical version" BD and is ONLY available at theaters. The normal BD is likely months away

It had already been announced that it was coming in 2024, but it is good to know when exactly. And yes, it will probably be my most anticipated show for next year.

I hope there is a R1 BD release of it. Sentai could release it and rescue seasons 1 and 2 like they did for Yuki Yuna. Since many people hate HIDIVE, I imagine Crunchyroll could also stream it becaused they simulcasted the first two seasons.

It would be nice if someone would take another swing at publishing the LNs in English, since the medium is much more established here now. Although now that I look, Yen Press had the license, and if they couldn’t make it work here…

I wonder how KyoAni's other project (20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku) that was supposed to get an anime is going. I know it's in development hell thanks to the arson attack, but I would like to know if it's actually still in development or it's been shelved.

This show is pure unbridled masochism if you're a yuri fan. There's real life lesbian couples who don't have as much romantically veiled interactions as the case of this series.

A different company that now seems to be out of business, even

Just got back from seeing Ensemble Contest

Annoyingly you dont get to see the ACTUAL contest...wonder if thats what we will see in the forthcoming series.

Also if anyone is seeing Ensemble Contest - say to the very end - theres a stinger for the new season wtih the new 1st Year Eupho player!!!

EDIT - there is a TON of yuri overtones between Kumiko and Reina - people will lap this up

Care to elaborate on that one or are you just baiting? Because I don't see people talking about Kumiko/Reina

It was a major part of the discourse during the first season, reaching it's apex at the top of that hill in Uji one evening, in what was about as sensual a scene as Kyoani has ever produced. As far as I know, there's never been any evidence for it in the novels.

Yeah, it's 100% queerbaiting. Both Reina and Kumiko have established hetero love interests, one doomed to failure and the other obviously going to happen at the end of the final season/movie. I don't think it the yuri really shows up in the writing, either. It's mostly in the direction; the framing of shots, the lingering glances, etc.
