I'm hoping for a US release in January with a PC version.

Falcom does not even begin negotiations with English publishers until after their games are released in Japan, and a three-month development cycle would be impossible even if the game had no text. That's not even enough time to negotiate licensing, run a marketing campaign, get the game through Sony and Nintendo's approval processes, and produce physical releases.

On the other hand, they do work with Chinese publishers before their release dates, and we know that Clouded Leopard is already at work on the Chinese release of Ys X. They haven't announced a PC release, though, which means the port will probably be up to whoever licenses the game in English (probably NISA).

I'd say a late 2024 release is possible if NISA concentrates on it, but early-to-mid 2025 isn't unreasonable.

Looks like Adol Christin's adventures are still ongoing, which is a nice surprise. I didn't know the game was still so popular.

Huh didn't know about that first part. TIL. As one of the dozen of hardcore Y's fans it's hard waiting for them in English. And we really need a remake of the fifth game.
