Man, this is sad to hear. I have plans to watch Space Adventure Cobra, and the announcement of this come on the same day we're remembering 9/11 in the US/North America.

RIP Terasawa Crying or Very sad

Terasawa was a genius manga artist, and it's so very sad to have him go. I feel like he's one of those mangaka that never got proper recognition in America. I'd love to legally purchase the entire Space Adventure Cobra manga in English. I'd also like to see the Karasu-Tengu Kabuto anime officially released in its entirety.

Oh, geez. I think I already own all of the anime that got licensed from his works in the US, but I had just purchased sets of the manga for Cobra, Kabuto, and Goku Midnight Eye this past week. Cobra is out for delivery to my house today at any moment. Such odd timing.

Really bummed about hearing this. Cobra is such a fun series and I love Tersawa's style. I'll dig into my new comics when they arrive.

He also created the Takeru manga, which is considered the first comic book series made using computer graphics.
That is wrong and the first time I ever heard this claim. I usually tend to hear it about Digital Justice but even that isn´t right. February 1990: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman:_Digital_Justice
April 1988: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Iron_Man:_Crash_Vol_1_1

Is Takeru the first digital manga? Hard to say. Maybe the first full one? Anyway, Cobra is a Shounen Jump hero as the magazine was quite different in the 80s. The protagonist kills Hitler in the manga and the final ep of the 80s anime. I chose that as my Terasawa legacy. DMC´s Dante is also based on Cobra. To some degree Spike and many more.

Sad news. I still haven't seen it, but the anime's been on my radar for a long time.

Thanks, but I actually have the old Nozomi release of the TV series and Sentai's OVA release. Still need to double-dip on Discotek's BDs.

Yes you do and while you're at it, get the 4k of the movie (or the regular Blu-ray if you don't have that or a 4k player) and the upcoming Goku Blu-ray.

Iron Man: Crash Vol 1 and Batman: Digital Justice were one-shot graphic novels. Takeru was a comic book series.
