AS of time of posting it already has reached 70% of its start up goal, it will probably reach its end goal within the next couple of days at this pace.

Yes, it seems so.

Yes, supposedly. From their EN site:
Quote:
Will the Game Be Available in English?
Yes, we’re planning on making an English version! At the time we send out rewards for this version, it won’t be ready, but we’ll be adding English in a later update for the download version. (The DVD-ROM will not contain the English version.)

A later post describes how to back the campaign from outside Japan, if you're so inclined. The tl;dr is:

  • Use a browser that can translate the Japanese text for you.
  • Use PayPal for payment.
  • Choose the ¥4,400 tier, the only one that gets you a download of the game without any physical stuff that you'd then have to set up a shipping service for.

There continue to be updates about the removal of 18+ content and certain Bad End routes from the Steam version. You'll want to join the Discord if that's important to you, because the information continues to change.

Why not new anime to actually get new people interested first?

Did you see the Muv-Luv Alternative anime? If they couldn’t make that VN work, what chance do they have with a romantic melodrama?

The 2003 Kiminozo / Rumbling Hearts anime is some mighty rough-looking digipaint, but at least it’s well-directed, smartly paced, and has a thoroughly naturalistic EN dub that sounds like little else in anime (as I’ve said in panels, the dub cast channeled Tennessee Williams instead of Jun Maeda). I would not trade that for whatever Avex’s in-house “Flagship Line” anime studio could do, given their complete inability to engage with the material for Muv-Luv.

I know it's been explained before, yet I'm still baffled as to how a subsidiary has to rely on crowdfunding. It's like kids abandoned by their rich (yeah, Avex IS rich) parents to feed themselves.

At least it will reach the target rather easily. Happy for them.

I'd gladly back a campaign for a new anime, or even a relaunch of the old one, but it'd have to be made with international fans in mind... this whole jumping through hoops to back it in the Japanese campaign and then having to hire some 3rd party to ship things overseas is a bit too much.
