A very pleasant surprise!

I'm interested in finding out who's going to voice Mamoru; he can be a bit of a divisive character and I feel like the wrong VA pick would exacerbate that.

Nice. The current state of the manga is dull, and the manga as a whole isn't great, even though it has an intriguing psychological theme to human x androids with some potential to be better, but the dynamic of the main couple is what's the most attracting of this story, so I look forward to seeing this anime for one season at least, if it never gets more afterwards.

I hope the anime adaptation at least gets to my favourite character, spoiler[Erisu], before the end of the first season spoiler[if not the entire Robotics Club].

spoiler[I actually really enjoy the Robotics club chapters even if they're a bit controversial because they take the focus away from Mina and Takuma.]

I am intrigued how they are going to adapt a manga as uneven as this. When it's good, it is among the best in its genre, but when it's bad, it is not only boring, but close to incomprehensible. Though the first few volumes may suffer less from this issue.

Okay, I wasn't expecting this one to be adapted. I'm currently collecting the manga in JP, EN & FR.... in different languages because reading it in japanese is hard. It's quite wordy and technical sometimes.
I wouldn't say it's a great manga, but it has its own flair. There's a sad undertone because the main waifu, Mina, never will be more than a machine in the end and Takuma is a sort of sad loser without her, especially in the beginning of the story.
I do agree with the sentiment here that the story is currently going nowhere. I'd like Sugiura to stick with the main two characters because as a married couple they are way more interesting in my book than the side characters.

The manga has a rough start before going somewhere and it´s rather clear that the author has a history of loli hentai with the way some of the manga is drawn. It also randomly dips in quality. Making a film that cuts the fat wouldn´t have been a bad idea and I wouldn´t mind cleaning up both the writing and presentation if this must be a TV anime but when does that ever happen? Made in Abyss toned down its fetish content in the anime, I guess?

I would argue that this did happen with Saga of Tanya the Evil (the novel version is ponderous by comparison), and I've seen something similar in a few other cases, so it is possible.
