Some of Atsuko's case notes are already featured in the anime (the cold open to episode 6, for instance).

Dear lord, I want someone to license Mouryou no Hako.

I started watching it when it first came out (pardon the pun) and I was really intrigued, but after the 5th episode, I couldn't find anything, it was like it fell off the face of the Earth or something.

Was it 13 episodes long?

Oh yes!! It's a darn good series -- I'd buy it in a heartbeat. If only the fansubs hadn't come to a screeching halt with 5 episodes to go.

Hell, at this point, I'd be happy to just get a fan sub of it...an actual, licensed DVD set seems like an impossible dream.

Another plea for fansubbers to complete the freaking show *sigh*.

Well I loved Requiem, so I hope this gets an official release over here.

Didn't know that the characters designs were by CLAMP. I don't know how I feel about that. I like CLAMP and everything, I'm just not sure how well their designs will mesh with a Kyogoku story.

Either way I still hope it comes over.

Yeah, I want someone to translate the rest of Moryo no Hako. I hate how tons of people are subbing Toradora and only was group is (or was?) subbing Moryo no Hako.

The problem with Mouryou no Hako is it's a very dense story with relatively sophisticated language; it's not easy to translate by any means. I'm not sure why the fansubbers stopped doing the show - they got to episode 8, I believe.

The first novel in the series, The Summer of the Ubume (Ubume no Natsu), is due out in English next month from Vertical Publishing - translated, I believe, by Alexander Smith, who is most excellent. The likelihood of it being a great success is slim to none, but we can always hope that we'll get to see more of them translated. I believe the live action film version of Mouryou has been professionally subtitled in English - you never know, stranger things have happened.

The CLAMP designs are perfect, if you ask me. The whole look of the show is fantastic; eerie and nostalgic at the same time. I can't wax lyrical about it enough.
