I am curious how Brittney will sound as Black Star but she probably will do it well considering his seiyuu was also female.

Yes, but there are different versions of Sloth, Wrath and Pride.

I am very disappointed by this announcement. I try not to be too overly negative about things, but man I just can't stand this.

I don't mind most of the casting (aside from Envy who didn't even try not to sound like a woman) but I absolutely cannot stand Vic Mignogna as Ed.

Vic Mignogna was terrible, and sounded all the worse when compared to the fantastic work of Aaron Dismuke.

I would like to hear a dub where Ed doesn't sound like a man in his late 40's.

Considering that this is a different story, and that there is already so much completely unwarranted criticism of this new series, I would have hoped they would have tried a new cast to emphasize that this isn't the same thing, instead of trying to appease the impossible fan-base of the original series.

I am especially bothered that they are keeping Ed, but not Al. If they wanted consistency for whatever reason, they should have kept both. Its not like age is a factor for Dismuke, as Mignogna is almost 50. So why keep Ed, when they are changing Al?

As much as I would love to hear this series in a great English dub, I doubt I will even be picking up these DVDs when they come out since it is just gonna be the same badly acted, whiney, scratchy, six packs of cigarettes-a-day voice for Ed.

And to end on a high note, Brotherhood is a great show thus far. Excellent use of action and comedy, with just the right amount of melodrama.

heh, it seems I ( and most of the people in my area) had the opposite experience you did.

I liked Vic as Ed, but thought he sounded too young, like a few years younger than what I thought Ed should sound like.

And the number one reason people here (that i know) didn't listen to the dub was because they couldn't stand al's voice. I linked this announcement around to some friends and they were like, hey, i might listen to the dub this time.

Awesome man, I love hearing 15 year old characters voiced by scratchy-voiced men in their late 40's

:/

Aaron's voice isn't surprising, I liked his performance but...it's probably not the same voice anymore. :B
