This is awesome! Now I really hope I go to Japan again this year. Ghibili really should release the shorts on DVD. I watched Yadosagashi at the Ghibili Museum last year. I loved it! I'd totally buy all the shorts on DVD if they were ever released.

At one point I think they said the shorts would be widely released literally over Miyizaki's dead body (i.e. not while he drew breath)... but more recently Miyizaki or someone from Ghibli said they might consider a DVD release once there are at least 12 shorts in total. I don't remember the details, unfortunately.

How many are they up to, now?
