So sweet that Kalafina's arrival just coincided with Madoka Magica official license reveal. Back when I first heard of Kalafina coming to AX, I think I posed just how awesome it would be if the group's arrival marked the license-get of the series-- glad to see I was partially right! Very Happy

I didn't know Yuki Kajiura was their producer. So basically they're just a prop band, like FictionJunction. Not that I'm undermining their talent.

You couldn't tell from their singing styles and instrumental compositions? After she merged all the FictionJunction people [except Yuuka Nanra whom is under her real name now days], it's basically FictionJunction vs Kalafina. Both are too similar for me to really say one is better than the other though. FictionJunction is doing the OP for a summer anime

Actually, Wakana and Keiko are also members of FictionJunction - so half of both groups are identical. A good composer needs good vocalists, and Kajiura got herself some really talented girls (in both bands). They are amazing live.

The main difference is that Kajiura is herself a member of FictionJunction (it's like her personal project), while she's more in the background of Kalafina ("only" producer and composer, not participating in the live performances and interviews).
