When I saw the 2,000 number I was like "WHAT? But didn't Kodansha USA confirm LONG ago that Vol. 1 had over 100k in print THEN?" Then I saw that this was for COMIC retailers, and remembered that I hardy EVER see any manga in comic book shops. Mad Manga thrives in traditional bookstores like B&N and Books-A-Million.

Still, glad to see comic sales up.

With February being Marvel's 2nd push of Marvel Now including the launch of Superior Spider-Man, which iwhen all is said and done with sales will be around 250k in total sales. In addition the relaunch of the popular Uncanny X-Force, a new Wolverine book and the restart of New Avengers as well as the 1st Marvel Now push residuals Marvel was going to have a big month. DC had Death of the Family that was a good seller but not great with three titles over 100k and 2 near it but Batman not getting 200k for the heart of Death of the Family is a bit of a sting.

I'm also guessing that March will see Marvel take back the market share that they gave up in February with the role out of two mini events one Avengers and one X-book.

I've never seen my comic shop so busy. Stuff is selling out left and right. I still can't get a copy of Tenjo Tenge Vol 11. They keep selling out of it in my town.

Marvel is also releasing more than 700 historic No. 1 issues available to digital readers starting Sunday for free through their app and website. (After Tuesday, it'll be $1.99 to $3.99 per issue.)
