Hmm, the demo has me feeling hot-and-cold. The mechanics are all there, and there are a lot of ease-of-living improvements (I'm loving the new Custom menu--now it's easy to know which skills unlock what). Also, I finally know how to pronounce "Tlatchga".
I'm a little concerned that the talky bits will overpower the game. I always liked using my imagination for all of my characters in the previous Etrian games. I guess I'll stick to Classic mode for that, although I guess I would like to give the Story mode's plot a chance. Also: 3D enemy sprites. I'm gonna have to ramp up the battle speed to deal with them. They look snazzy, but battles feel so slow... It's going to have to take a back-seat to Pokémon X. Sorry, Atlus, but they announced theirs first... |
