Attack on Titan 11 - 1,417,063 at 13 weeks
One Piece 72 - 1,540,005 at 1 week

So much for One Piece being retired as number 1 for Attack on Titan.

One Piece 71 (previous volume) managed to rank also, so:

One Piece 71 (at 94 days) 2857279 (of 4 million) 71.43%
Shingeki 11 (87 days) 1417063 (of 1.85 million) 76.60%

Look at those sales ratios. Pretty close.

Though I'm doubtful that Kodansha didn't add another print run for Shingeki 11 (regular edition) cause of the weeks volume 11 (paper version) was out of stock at Amazon Japan, but anyway - let's assume that it's 1.85 million regular copies for Shingeki 11 in circulation.

In 2 more weeks, we'll be getting the 2013 final tally. And finally, I'll know whether special editions are counted in the overall series tallies.

Yes, Shingeki no Kyoujin is Monthly.
Pykrete is talking of the titles volumes and the time they've been selling, the sales at that time and the first edition print.

Shingeki is monthly. I don't know what's the best-selling monthly manga ever, but it's already doing sales averages on par with Fullmetal Alchemist and maybe better.

animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-12-03/2009-japanese-comic-ranking-no.1-25

Another thing which makes it more complicated when comparing Shingeki manga sales is that its volume 11 sold a lot of special edition copies and the special edition looks like it's not limited cause there's still copies available on Amazon Japan.

When it last ranked, volume 11 special edition sold 275066 copies.

So, right now, Shingeki 11 is 1417063 + 275066 = 1692129 copies (at least).

nobody is going to beat One Piece in sales. Anybody who think otherwise is crazy.

I don't think FMA is monthly.

Note: i didn't said it was weekly either.

The Seven Deadly Sins could be Shonen Magazine's next big thing like with Magi. Just hope whenever the anime adaptation happens it doesn't suck like Magi's anime did.

This.

Some here wanted to gang bang on OP with the evident temporal big boost of earlier Shingeki volumes BUT when it comes down to it you have this:

Ushio wrote:
Attack on Titan 11 - 1,417,063 at 13 weeks
One Piece 72 - 1,540,005 at 1 week

So much for One Piece being retired as number 1 for Attack on Titan.

And this is only for manga, which is what Shingeki has going on for it mainly, and well the excellent disc sales, any kind of DIRECT comparison with OP was just blind hype and/or the cumulative sales during a temporal boost this year.

why do you people ( OP fans ) hang so tight to that ( one piece is the best selling manga in japan ) thingy?!! justin bieber had the most watched video on youtube for what seemed like a long time Very Happy

i wish i could tell you popularity = quality . but it doesn't. the fact is it's right, you can't compare OP to AoT, cause AoT is so much better and more mature
