I think that with the mosaic added it just looks so much more... dirty.

But maybe that's just me.

Well, Sugo did want to rape her in real life while she was in a coma, and he did abuse her in ALO, but not actual rape. Unless the Toonami version edited it out.

I didn't see anything in the Toonami version that would warrant this, unless they did a major edit job, and what was shown in Taiwan was much more graphic.

Another good reason, even with all our problems, to live in the U.S.

Toonami didn't edit anything. I don't think this was worth a fine, but the scene itself was tasteless and didn't add anything to the story. Then again, if there's one thing SAO is good at, it's being tasteless and exploitive.

I'm so glad someone else caught that. If you hadn't quoted it I was certainly going to. Laughing

As for what I noticed, toonami doesn't edit much things (if any) out (I hadn't watch their edition), but in contrast this Taiwan edition edited away hundreds of second away from this episode from what I heard.....

Well I didn't catch it either, so we both missed it.

Your post was funny to me because you were making a joke at Sword Art Online's expense and that's something I very much approve of.

I want you to know that I wasn't making fun of you, but rather agreeing with you.

Jesus, Taiwan can't catch a break; didn't a School Rumble episode that aired late night end up getting a TV station in Taiwan fined a couple of years ago?

It is no doubt one of those issues where the logic is "all animated shows are for little kids" and the entire series probably ended up on a Saturday morning block (or whatever is the Taiwan equivalent) in place of an otaku clock setting as most other countries would push such content for late night viewing.

Not really her body, so not real rape cover-up by authorities? Confused

Anything's fine with Adult Swim as long they don't *gasp* say a naughty word!

Kind of like the Australian classification system and the depiction of drugs in video games.

Taiwan sounds like they have big restrictions on their television network never mind anime content. Some countries are worse, I think Toonanime got way with it since their Cable and not actual television.

I do agree the Tongue being blurred out makes scene worse than it really is.

The only reason why broadcast TV is censored is because the airwaves were nationalized with the Titanic disaster as an excuse. The FCC has no power over channels that stay out of the ether.
