Another weekend, Frozen survives another challenge, this time Thermae Romae 2 (TM 1 was #2 movie of 2012).

  • 1 Frozen (2013) $7,558,540
    2 Thermae Romae II $4,809,545
    3 Meitantei Conan: Ijigen no sunaipa $4,551,469
    4 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 $4,105,577

Frozen's lowest weekend is still its opening weekend.

  • Fastest to 10 Million Admissions:

    31 Days - Spirited Away (2001)
    35 Days - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
    40 Days - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
    41 Days - Ponyo (2008)
    44 Days - Howl's Moving Castle (2004)
    47 Days - Frozen (2014)
    48 Days - Bayside Shakedown: Save the Rainbow Bridge! (2003)
    66 Days - Princess Mononoke (1997)
    67 Days - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
    71 Days - The Last Samurai (2003)

Now it's Golden Week, so gonna be huge.

  • Biggest Weekends (Top 10) [2001-]
    01. ¥3.601 billion - 07/09-10/2005
    02. ¥3.427 billion - 05/03-04/2014 *Estimate*
    03. ¥3.423 billion - 07/19-20/2003
    04. ¥3.329 billion - 07/21-22/2007
    05. ¥3.314 billion - 07/22-23/2006

    Frozen claims its 8th-consecutive week on top and delivered its biggest weekend so far, as well as the biggest 8th weekend ever by a considerable margin.

    Weekend Estimates [05/03-04]

    01 (01) ¥1.09 billion ($10.8 million), +40%, Frozen (Disney) Week 8
    02 (02) ¥536 million ($5.2 million), +09%, Thermae Romae II (Toho) Week 2
    03 (03) ¥432 million ($4.2 million), -07%, Detective Conan: The Sniper from Another Dimension (Toho) Week 3
    04 (04) ¥373 million ($3.6 million), -11%, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Sony) Week 2

About $11M weekend and $25M for the Golden Week would put Frozen in the Top 10 All-Time:

  • 01 :: ¥30.40 billion ($244.0 million) - Spirited Away (2001)
    02 :: ¥26.20 billion ($212.0 million) - Titanic (1997)
