"Bostom" should be "Boston".

The dub is as you would expect from a Ghibli film. High quality and relatively faithful to the original audio track. Although Moretz' voice did throw me off a bit. She's a good actress but I didn't always think her voice fit with the character. And I wasnt even aware that it was her at first. That said, pretty much every other character was superbly cast. Especially Kaguya's little servant (not sure if they ever said her name in the film).

More importantly, a Critics' Circle consensus gives it "street credit" enough to be one of the two art films that competes for the Best Animated Oscar with the three commercial nominees.
Not that it has a chance of winning, of course (and I didn't even like Big Hero 6), but enough to maybe get it a wider distribution when it hits disk.

I gave up on the possibility of anime films winning the award a long time ago. I dont even respect the Oscars as an awards show anyway so it doesnt upset me. But getting a nomination in and of itself is a great way to boost awareness and hopefully sales for such a good film that absolutely deserves it.

Wasn't talking about it winning--But be honest, who would've watched "Secret of the Kells" or "Chico & Rita" if they hadn't been the "art" nominees to make the BAF category look respectable?
But to get that, they have to have enough mainstream exposure from the critics' awards. The Wind Rises was the same way last year, but that already had enough "art" hype before it was even released.

I watched any animated film Roger Ebert recommended because he respected and loved the form, and that included those two. Now that he's passed away I watch The Dissolve for animation I'd not otherwise know of because the reviewers there have a similar love and understanding to that which Ebert had.
