I'm more interested in the songs they will be performing but this is quite a roster. Cute designs too in terms of artwork!

The girls look nice, and the setting could be nice too.

This has the potential to be pretty popular if they really do let fans help create the series to a certain extent.

But yeah, I want to hear the music.

Father could have either taken his wifes' last name or she is using her mothers maiden name for whatever reason.

I am looking forward to see this brand new entry to the franchise. I hope that both the new girls and the new VAs will rise to stardom. Oh yeah, and I hope their songs, dancing, and performance will be as awesome as the original raibus.

I was initially sceptical about Love Live! Sunshine but the more I find out about it, the more excited I get. I can't wait to find out more and see the franchise take shape. Being able to participate and help guide them on their journey is exciting!

Mari looks like she could be my girl of the new group. Kotori was my favorite from the original cast. Note to self: finish buying the first season discs. I had a strong start collecting them but then got distracted by other things (mainly getting those batshit expensive Cardcaptor Sakura BDs...I think I payed around $500-600 with smart shopping I could have had all of LL and more for that price. The hard to find newly illustated artbox was impossible to pass up) I still watch that scene in the first episode where "Private Wars" plays almost weekly. That was the moment I became obsessed lol.

It's probably an oversight by the creators.

However, when I was studying abroad my host family had a Canadian father and a Japanese mother. The kids used the mother's maiden name because it was easier in Japanese society (I guess both for forms and spelling and stuff and then also due to discrimination and Japanese liking homogeneity).

Because she lives in Japan (presumably) as a Japanese citizen, it's likely that she is using her mother's Japanese name in order to not stand out. There are actually systems in place for this to be possible on a legal level, in particular for minors of mixed parenthood. Some schools will even recommend that such students use Japanese names for that reason - foreigners are a distraction, and the less you can present yourself as a "foreigner", the better.

Of course, that doesn't deter people like Little Johanne from being insane and bucking the status quo.

Johanne sounds like a nice underdog character, I also think of her pride in her "demonic" bad luck is really cute. She substantially different from the characters I tend to gravitate towards. Also, typical Dengeki G's for having these works as user participation projects. That fact does give it a high chance of an anime because others such as Sister Princess had that same format and they have anime adaptations.

After reading their backgrounds and personalities, I realize that I should never judge a book by its cover. At first, I thought the new girls were plain and generic but after knowing more of them, they have the potential to be as good as µ's. Now I want to see more of them. For the time being, Chika and Dia are my favorites.

Mari Ohara is a high-class horse rider and an industrial metal fan. I have high hopes for her.
