Really enjoyed the anime series back when ADV put it out years ago. It was probably one of the last series I collected the entirety of from them (although it almost feels like to two different series since the animation studio changes for the second story arc and it has a completely different look). Might have to go pick up the first volume of the manga at Book-Off sometime soon.

Wow, I had no idea this manga was still running! I really loved the anime, which ADV did a surprisingly great job with (the dub is actually better researched and uses more accurate terminology than the original Japanese version, at least for the first arc.) I'm going to have to check out the manga now.
One thing I did notice from the anime is that the author seems to insist on having Yugo endure some kind of horrible torture in each storyline. I can only imagine what awful things have been done to the poor guy over 20 years of stories. |
