Netflix to Launch in Japan on September 2

Netflix Japan announced with a video on Tuesday that it will launch its streaming-video subscription service in Japan on September 2. The trailer features the cast of Knights of Sidonia advertising the service.
The service will offer Japanese films and television series, as well as western Netflix originals such as Daredevil and Marco Polo. Both seasons of the Knights of Sidonia anime ran on broadcast television in Japan before debuting on Netflix in the west.
Netflix announced its planned expansion into Japan in February. This will be the streaming platform's first debut in an Asian country.
