Crunchyroll Adds Ristorante Paradiso, Sweet Blue Flowers Anime to Catalog

Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it has added the Ristorante Paradiso and Sweet Blue Flowers (Aoi Hana) anime to its catalog. Both anime are available to users in the United States and Canada.

In addition, Crunchyroll is streaming the Divine Gate and Luck & Logic anime for users in Spain and Portugal. New episodes of Divine Gate will be available every Friday, while new episodes of Luck & Logic will be available every Saturday.

Crunchyroll describes Ristorante Paradiso:

Rome, Italy. When she was a child, Nicoletta was taken in by her grandmother so that her mother could remarry. Now grown up, she leaves everything in the countryside behind to visit her mother and her mother's second husband, a ristorante owner. To her surprise, her stepfather did not know his wife had a daughter! Delicious food and dreamy gentlemen await at the ristorante, casetta dell'orso. For everyone who works there, a tender connection to the hearts of each visitor is spun, and the curtain raises on a story about these first-rate Italian gentlemen in spectacles.

The anime is based on Natsume Ono's manga of the same name. The 11-episode anime premiered in 2009. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan, and Right Stuf released the series on DVD in 2012. Viz Media released the original manga in English in 2010, as well as all three volumes of the Gente - Ristorante no Hitobito sequel manga from 2010 to 2011.

Crunchyroll describes Sweet Blue Flowers:

Fumi Manjoume enters Kamakura's accelerated high school - Matsuoka All-Girls High School. While waiting at the Kamakura station on the day of her entrance ceremony, she runs into an old childhood friend whom she had not seen in 10 years: Akira Okudaira. As their friendship is rekindled and they start falling back into the rhythm of friends again, it starts a delicate love story...

The anime is based on Takako Shimura's Aoi Hana manga. The anime premiered in 2009, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Right Stuf released the series on DVD in 2012.

Crunchyroll and Funimation describe the Divine Gate anime:

After the Divine Gate opened, our world and the worlds beyond became connected, bringing an era of chaos. To restore order, the World Council was formed and the Divine Gate fell into legend. Now, a select few have gathered to attempt to reach the Gate and remake the world. But what will they find when they open the door?

The series premiered on January 8. Funimation is streaming the series in North America with both Japanese audio with English subtitles, and with an English broadcast dub.

The series is based on GungHo Online Entertainment and Acquire's smartphone "panel RPG." Noriyuki Abe (The Heroic Legend of Arslan, Bleach, GTO) is directing the anime at Studio Pierrot, and Natsuko Takahashi (My Love Story!!, Moyashimon, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan) is in charge of series composition. Ichiro Uno (The World is Still Beautiful) is designing the characters, and Takumi Ozawa (Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Okamikakushi - Masque of the Wolf) is composing the music. The group vistlip (Samurai Jam -Bakumatsu Rock-, Yona of the Dawn, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's) is contributing the ending theme song "Contrust."

Crunchyroll and Funimation describe the Luck & Logic anime series:

After losing a war in their home world Tetraheaven, the Gods appeared in the human world seeking refuge. To protect the citizens from the otherworldly beings, the government began employing Logicalists—a special police force with the power to enter trances with Goddesses. In these trance forms humans and Goddesses can combine their power and fight against those looking to disturb the peace.

The series premiered on January 7. Funimation is streaming the series in North America Japanese audio with English subtitles.

The series is based on Bushiroad's upcoming January collectible card game. Koichi Chigira (Gate Keepers, Full Metal Panic!, Ryo) and Takashi Naoya (A Certain Scientific Railgun S, Selector Infected Wixoss episode animation director) is directing the anime at Doga Kobo. Yuuya Takahashi (2015 Lupin III, Laughing Under the Clouds) is in charge of series composition and is also credited with the original concept. Mari Shimazaki (Bayonetta game) drew the original character and concept designs, while Rei Aoi (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Psychic School Wars key animation) and Katsuhiro Kumagai (Samurai Flamenco, Witch Craft Works, Selector Spread Wixoss animation director) designed the characters for animation. Kenji Andou (Karas, King of Thorn, Rage of Bahamut) is responsible for creature design, while Hiroshi Tani (Majestic Prince, Plastic Memories) and Makoto Kobayashi (Space Battleship Yamato 2199, Last Exile, Simoun) are handling mechanical design. Norimitsu Kaihō from Nitroplus is credited with "setting cooperation." Tatsuya Katou (Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club, Comet Lucifer, Celestial Method) composed the music.
