Toji no Miko Anime Listed With 24 Episodes

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The official website for Studio Gokumi's original anime project Toji no Miko (The Shrine Maiden Swordwielders) revealed on Monday that the series will have six DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases. Each volume will have four episodes for a total of 24 episodes. One volume will ship every month starting on April 25.

The DVD volumes will cost 11,000 yen (about US$99) each, and the Blu-ray Disc volumes will cost 13,000 yen (US$118) each. The first copies will bundle CDs, 32-page booklets with original short stories by Tatsuya Takahashi, and tickets for special bonus items for people who purchase every volume. The CDs will be character song CDs in volumes 1, 3, and 5, and they will be drama CDs in volumes 2, 4, and 6. In addition, the first volume (seen right) will bundle a storyboard booklet for the first episode and an application for advance tickets sales for an event that will be held on June 24.

The series premiered on January 5, and it is airing on Tokyo MX, MBS, BS11, and AT-X until June.

Koudai Kakimoto (Cyborg 009 Call of Justice, unit director for Haikyu!!, Psycho-Pass) is directing the series at Studio Gokumi (Seiren, Yuki Yuna Is a Hero, Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn). Tatsuya Takahashi (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn, Eromanga Sensei) is handling the series composition, and Yoshinori Shizuma (Zero Kara Hajimeru Mahō no Sho/Grimoire of Zero light novel illustrator) is in charge of the original character design. GENCO is producing the series.
