Akira Hiramoto's RaW Hero Manga Resumes Serialization

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

This year's 23rd issue of Kodansha's Evening magazine published a new chapter of Akira Hiramoto's RaW Hero manga on Tuesday. The issue confirmed that the manga has resumed from its hiatus. The manga took a break for one issue due to the author's "sudden illness."

Hiramoto launched the manga in the 20th issue of the magazine on September 25. The manga's first chapter starts out by following a female high school student who has a secret crush on her glasses-wearing teacher. The scene then shifts completely to follow Chiaki, the eldest of three siblings who is on his way to a job interview in order to make money to help raise his siblings after their parents died. On the train, he discovers a molester and his sense of justice urges him to protect the woman being harassed.

Hiramoto is also currently serializing the Me and the Devil Blues manga in Kodansha's Young Magazine the 3rd. The manga launched in 2004 but took a six-year hiatus from 2008 to 2014. Del Rey once licensed and released the series in English.

Hiramoto launched the Prison School manga in Kodansha's Young Magazine in February 2011 and ended it in December. The manga inspired a television anime and a live-action series, and Funimation released both in North America via streaming and home video.
