Boruto Manga Has 'Big Announcement' on June 10

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

This year's 27th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that the magazine's next issue will have a "big announcement" for Ukyō Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto's Boruto manga on June 10.

Viz Media's website is currently listing that the Boruto manga is a bimonthly series. Since its launch, the manga has run in Weekly Shonen Jump once a month.

Kodachi and Ikemoto launched the Boruto sequel manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016. Shueisha published the manga's seventh volume on February 4, and will publish the manga's eighth volume on Tuesday. The manga inspired a television anime series titled Boruto: Naruto Next Generations that premiered in April 2017, and is ongoing.

Viz Media is publishing the manga in English, and is also simulcasting the anime on Hulu and Crunchyroll. Ikemoto previously stated that he hopes to finish the Boruto manga within 30 volumes.

Masashi Kishimoto launched the original Naruto manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, and ended the series in November 2014. The series has spawned multiple anime, anime films, OVAs, and game adaptations. The Naruto Shippūden anime series ended in March 2017. The manga is inspiring a live-action Hollywood film at Lionsgate.
