Square Enix's Osaka Team Posts Job Listings for 'HD Development for Kingdom Hearts Series'

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

Square Enix's Osaka unit has posted three job positions on its website for what it is calling an "HD development for the Kingdom Hearts series." The job listings are for UI Designers, Effects Designers, and Technical Artists.

Square Enix released Kingdom Hearts III on January 25 in Japan for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on January 29 in the West. The game had shipped more than 5 million copies worldwide, including digital sales, as of February 5, and is the fastest-selling title in the history of the franchise.

The game will get DLC titled "Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind," which will launch this winter. The DLC will have a new scenario temporarily titled "Re Mind," a "limit cut episode" and boss fight, and a secret episode and boss fight. The DLC in Japan will also offer the option to switch to the English dub of the game. Game director Tetsuya Nomura previously announced that there will also be a free DLC that will include a new keyblade and form change that will release around the same time as the paid DLC.

Shiro Amano is drawing a manga based on the game, and he launched the manga on April 29.
