Lupin III: Dead or Alive (movie)

After the completion of this film, Monkey Punch reportedly said that his first experience in directing an anime was exhausting, and wishes never to pursue such a career again. 

Contrary to popular belief, Monkey Punch did not direct "Dead or Alive" due to his dissatisfaction with Die! Nostradamus, but did it for a lack of another director.

Minami Takayama's first role in a Lupin related anime, she would later do the voice of Conan Edogawa in the Detective Conan Vs. Lupin TV special. Ironically she inherited the role of Conan for the Detective Conan TV series the same year this movie was released.

The last theatrical Lupin III movie to feature Eiko Masuyama, Goro Naya, & Makio Inoue as the voices of Fujiko, Zenigata, & Goemon respectively.

Kenichi Ogata's first role in a Lupin III anime in 7 years.

During the scene where Headhunter & Crisis are watching Panish's broadcast the images of Joe/Cyborg 009 & Space Pirate Cobra are seen on one of the screens. Nachi Nozawa who voiced Crisis was the voice of Space Pirate Cobra, while Banjou Ginga who voiced Headhunter did the voice of G-Junior from the 1979 Cyborg 009 TV series.

Johnny Bryant's only English dub role for an anime.

Goof: After Jigen observes Ole's pendant his beard & hair turn white. In the next shot it was reverted back to black.

The first Lupin theatrical movie since Castle of Cagliostro to take place in a ficitional country.
