Trivia:

Many of Bastard!!'s characters and settings are named after famous Rock and Heavy Metal artists. The Kingdom of Meta-Rikana is named after Metallica, while the opposing kingdom of Whiteos-Neiki is named after Whitesnake. Meta-Rikana's knight Von Jobina is a pun on Bon Jovi. The god Ansla-Sax is wordplay on the band Anthrax. Dark Schneider's powers "Accused," "Anthem," and "Damned" are named after popular J-Metal bands. Schneider is named after Udo Dirkschneider, lead vocalist of the German metal band U.D.O. The spell that unleashes Dark Schneider is called "Accept," named after Dirkschneider's former band.

Bastard!! was suppose to be eight episodes, but the creator was arrested during the making of the seventh episodes and was never continued.

Other Heavy Metal references: Thunder Empress Arshes Nei is loosely named after Earthshaker, which is either the 1983 album by Y&T or the Japanese metal band bearing that name. Dark Priest Abigail is named after King Diamond's 1987 album Abigail. Prince Lars is named after Metallica drummer/co-founder Lars Ulrich. Geo Noto Sort (Soto)'s name is a reference to rock vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, best known for his works with guitar virtuoso Yngwie J. Malmsteen. One of Geo's spells is named after Christian metal band Stryper. Sean Ari is named after Sean Harris of Diamond Head.
