Trivia:

"Ehrgeiz" is German for "ambition"; "senki" can have different meanings all of which are military related (such as "battle flag" or "strategy").

Ehrgeiz did get an English dub for the first two episodes. However, since sales for the dubbed tape were low, as were overall sales of the show, Bandai did not dub any more episodes afterwards, and did not bring the series over to DVD.

Ehrgeiz was aired on TV Tokyo as a late-night anime, but not because of it's content. The reason it was late-night may be because it was cheaper than releasing it as an OVA.

Due to a low animation budget, the robots slide around rather than walk when on the ground.
