Trivia:

Is widely considered by fans to be a "joke". The notoriously horrid animation and overall poor production quality has drawn in a cult following for this anime.

Alongside the 26 episodes that told the story, there were an additional four episode made that recap the story: First was Soushuuhen Chi no Maki, which apparently aired between episodes 11 & 12, followed by Shoushuuhen 1: Chi no Maki, Soushuuhen 2: Ten no Maki, and Soushuukankestuhen, which aired after the show had finished and, combined, took the place of the originally-scheduled Guilstein movie airing.

The anime has had a rather odd release history after its airing on television. A 5-disc DVD boxset containing episodes 1-8 as they were seen on TV was released on July 7, 2006, but it featured some oddities about it; the video is handled oddly, as the episodes are letterboxed but the bonus disc video is squeezed, there are no chapter breaks or informational booklet, part of the eyecatch for each episode is missing, and BS-i's website synopsis for the set said "Machigattamama", which indicates a mistake of some sort. However, it was priced at 10,000 Yen, which was rather cheap for a release of this sort. A complete collection "MUSASHIBOX", which was going to fix the multitude of animation problems the show had, was scheduled for a May 16, 2007 release, but in April of 2007 the release was canceled. The original soundtrack was also scheduled for a September 20, 2006 release, but never happened. Interestingly enough, though, French anime licensor Kazé licensed and released all 26 episodes across three 2-disc box sets in 2008, making it the only way to actually own the entire show.
