Rozen Maiden: Ouvertüre (special)

Touched by a thread on her Free BBS started by a fan deeply moved by Rozen Maiden Ouverture and that fan's painful past of being bullied, in the 2007-01-28 entry on her blog Rie Tanaka, Japanese voice actor (seiyuu) for Suigintou, revealed her own painful past of being a victim of bullying in elementary school and junior high (middle) school. Both boys and girls took part in the bullying. She did not like going to school; she transferred schools many times when young and did not make friends. She learned to distrust people. It was not until high school that she had close friends. For a long time, Rie dreamed of being a voice actor. And her family supported her dream. Today, she has achieved her dream of being a voice actor and is really, really happy now.

According to Oricon (the Billboard of Japan), the limited edition of the Rozen Maiden Ouvertüre Japanese Region 2 DVD - which includes a Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i radio CD, starring Rie Tanaka as Suigintou and the other voices, not included with the regular edition - sold the most copies of any Rozen Maiden Japanese Region 2 DVD. Based on a minor manga of the same name which ran in a minor magazine, Comic BIRZ, Rozen Maiden anime DVD sales have been a major success in Japan, with Rozen Maiden Ouvertüre leading the pack.
