Trivia:
Like many fictional stories set in Hokkaido, the title is a pun of the famous quote "Boys, be ambitious!" by Dr. William Smith Clark (1826-1886), founder of Sapporo Agricultural College, predecessor of Hokkaido University today. The actual model of the art college, however, was the Monbetsu Campus of Dohto University, which Hanamizawa has attended before dropping out in order to pursue his professional career. The Department of Arts moved to Sapporo in 1996, and the entire campus software moved to Sapporo in 2005, followed by the transfer of college real estate properties to the City of Monbetsu in 2008.
