Supercell/Miku Song, Flow's Anime CD Get U.S. Releases

Sony Music Direct Japan, a division of Sony Music Entertainment Japan, announced that it began selling a digital version of the Japanese pop band supercell's single "The World Is Mine feat. Hatsune Miku" on Wednesday. As the title implies, the song features vocals generated by Crypton Future Media's "virtual idol" Hatsune Miku with the Vocaloid2 singing software. The car marker Toyota used the song for a new online American commercial with Hatsune Miku last week. The song is available for US$0.99 on the Amazon and iTunes digital music stores.
Sony is also releasing a digital version of the Japanese band Flow's Flow Anime Best album on both iTunes and Amazon in anticipation of the group's upcoming appearances at Anime Central in Illinois and FanimeCon in California. The CD includes themes composed and performed by Flow in a variety of anime series, including Naruto, Eureka Seven, and Code Geass, along with four bonus tracks. The album is available for US$7.99 on Amazon and for US$9.99 on iTunes.
In a related development, the EXIT TUNES Presents Vocalonation feat. Hatsune Miku album will go on sale in Japan on July 6. Two previous albums in the series, EXIT TUNES Presents Vocalgenesis feat. Hatsune Miku and EXIT TUNES Presents Vocalonexus feat. Hatsune Miku, were the first albums with vocals created by voice synthesis software to rank #1 on Oricon's weekly sales charts. The new album will include a credit card-shaped "fake card" bonus, and the limited edition version will add an original mobile phone strap.
