Commercial puts actress in animated forest surrounded by Rascal the Raccoon characters

Actress and singer Yui Aragaki has stepped into an anime world in a commercial for the Haruyama suit brand that began airing in Japan on May 20. In the 15-second "Araeru Suits Rascal Hen Haruyama" (Washable Suits Rascal Ad - Haruyama) commercial, Aragaki is washing a suit in a river in a forest surrounded by animals such as birds, a dog, and a raccoon from the 1977 television anime Rascal the Raccoon. Haruyama is streaming the commercial on its website.

The commercial is for Haruyama's "Anshinshite Araeru Suit" (Worry-Free Washable Suit). Nippon Animation produced the commercial, just as it did for the original television anime series.

In 2009 Studio Ghibli animated Aragaki's third single "piece." Aragaki had appeared as the host "navigator" in Hirake! Mahō no Tobira ~Isshoni Utaou Yume no Uta~ (Open the Magic Door! The Songs of Dreams to Sing Along), an NHK television special of Disney and Studio Ghibli music, on Children's Day in 2008. In addition to live-action roles, she voiced the character Yoshino Fujieda in Digimon: Data Squad and Mirara in the first Keroro Gunsō movie. She also sang the theme song for the 2010 animated film Hutch, the Honeybee.

SMAP band member Takuya Kimura also entered an anime world for Asahi Soft Drinks's TeaO television commercial last May.
