Hitomi Kuroishi Returns to Sing New Last Exile's Ending

posted on by Egan Loo
Hitomi wrote, composed "Starboard" just as she did for 1st Last Exile's ending theme

The official website and Twitter account for the Last Exile -Fam, The Silver Wing- television anime series announced on Tuesday that Hitomi Kuroishi is contributing her song "Starboard" as the anime's ending theme. Kuroishi also contributed the ending theme song "Over The Sky" for the first Last Exile anime series in 2003. Kuroishi is not only singing "Starboard," but she also wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and arranged the song.

The website already announced that Maaya Sakamoto is performing the opening theme song "Buddy" for Last Exile -Fam, The Silver Wing-. Director Koichi Chigira, character designer Range Murata, and production designer Makoto Kobayashi are all returning from the first Last Exile anime, but the new person in charge of scripts is Kiyoko Yoshimura.

Funimation licensed the anime for North America, and the international television channel Animax Asia will show each episode within a day of its airing in Japan.

"I've made up my mind! I'm going to steal that ship!"

All source of life originates from the Grand Lake.

At this very sacred lake, the battle of Ades Federation and Turan Kingdom has begun. Ades Federation, armed with crushing force and massive battleships and its sights set to conquer the world, invade the Turan Kingdom. With the Ades troops heading to their beloved country, Turan now lies at the brink of collapse. The princesses of Turan (Millia il Velch Cutrettola Turan and Liliana il Grazioso Merlo Turan) look on as a small vanship named Vespa cruises above their heads.

"We'll steal your flagship from now, from this battle field!"

The Vespa continues to weave through the barrage of bombs, while the fleets of Ades close in on Turan.

What are the motives of Luscinia, the man leading Ades Federation into the war? And what is the secret behind 'Exile'?

The first episode will premiere in Japan on October 14 at 26:00 (effectively October 15 at 2:00 a.m.) after an introductory special the week before.

Kuroishi uses the Romanization of her given name "Hitomi" for singing credits, but she is not the same person as hitomi, the singer who has performed on the avex entertainment and maximum10 labels.
