Tiger & Bunny Anime Gets Stage Play

Shakugan no Shana's Kobayashi co-writes "Tiger & Bunny the Live"; Kamen Rider's Kaneda contributes

Sunrise producer Masayuki Ozaki revealed on Wednesday that "Tiger & Bunny the Live," a stage play adaptation of the Tiger & Bunny anime, is being announced on that day. According to the official website, the play aims to have realistic action in hero "suits," an original story, and the latest techniques in theatrical productions.

Anime scriptwriter Yasuko Kobayashi (Shakugan no Shana, Trigun: Badlands Rumble) and playwright Tadahiro Mōri are co-writing the play. Taisuke Morisaki is serving as chief director, while Morihito Kamizato is the actual hands-on director. Osamu Kaneda, a director of many Kamen Rider projects, is an "acting creator."

More details are in the issues of Monthly De☆but and Hyper Hobby magazines that are arriving on store shelves on Wednesday. The play is a new part of Tiger & Bunny's "Next Project" plans that were launched when the television anime ended. Ozaki had already revealed earlier this month that he was considering live-action and musical versions of the anime.

Ozaki also confirmed that Sunrise's Studio No. 6, led by Tiger & Bunny television producer Kazuhiko Tamura, is working "day and night" on the anime film project. He asked fans to wait until next week for new information on the film project.

Update: More information added.
