The official website for Kyoto Animation's Tamako Market television anime series revealed additional cast members on Monday. The revealed roles are:

Rina Hidaka (Inu X Boku Secret Service's Ririchiyo Shirakiin, Ro-Kyu-Bu!'s AiRI Kashii) as Anko Kitashirakawa, the little sister of the main character Tamako. The fourth-grader is fashion conscious and thinks her family's mochi (rice cake) shop is a bit old-fashioned.

Atsushi Tamaru (Jewelpet Kira☆Deco—!'s Granite) as Mochizō Ōji, a classmate and a childhood friend of Tamako. He is the son of a family that runs Ōjiya, another mochi shop across the street from the Kitashirakawa family's Tamaya. He is in the film club.

Yurie Yamashita (Shangri-La's Yuuka Yamazaki) as Shiori Asagiri, Tamako's stoic, serious classmate. She is part of the badminton club.

Pony Canyon already revealed that Aya Suzaki (Bakuman., Manyū Hiken-chō, To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness) will play the title heroine Tamako Kitashirakawa, a high-school freshman who is cheerful, spirited, and kind to others. She is the mochi-loving daughter of a mochi shopkeeper in the shopping district and a baton club member. Other cast members include Yūki Kaneko as Midori Tokiwa, and Juri Nagatsuma as Kanna Makino.

Naoko Yamada (K-ON!) is directing, and Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Bakuman.) is in charge of the series scripts. Another K-ON! veteran, Yukiko Horiguchi (Lucky Star), is designing the characters.

The anime will premiere on January 9 on the Tokyo MX TV station. It will also run on the Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, BS11 Digital, and BS Animax channels. There will be an advance screening event with the cast and director on January 5.
