2 Girls & Panzer Itasha Cars Get 180 Prospective Buyers

The public broadcasting company NHK reported on Sunday that 180 people applied to buy a limited-edition Girls und Panzer itasha (decorated car) — but Toyota is only offering two to the public. Mazda displayed the cars at Anime Contents Expo in March and also displayed them in its Auto Salon Amlux museum.
Toyota, like other Japanese automakers, are hoping that official itasha will help attract young Japanese people, who have not been buying as many cars as previous generations have.

Toyota is also offering the MS-186H-CA Auris hatchback to the public, in larger quantities, by forming a "joint venture" with the fictional Gundam company Zeonic.
